In December 2019, Gary Hill and Dorin Muresan, experts from the ICPA Staff Training and Development Network, were awarded a Cross “For Merit” II rank.

The award, issued by the National Administration of Penitentiaries of the Republic of Moldova (ANP), recognises their contribution to the prosperity of the system of the penitentiary administration and the successful completion of the process of resocialization of the persons in detention.

The National Administration of Penitentiaries of the Republic of Moldova joined as a member of ICPA in October 2019 following a successful training mission of the ICPA Network. This training aimed to improve the quality and content of prison officers’ training provided by the ANP, took place from 19-22 August 2019 across various prisons in Moldova, helping to establish and develop the implementation and evaluation of the curricula.
