Needs and Risk Assessment Training Delivered in Kenyan Prisons

UNODC GMCP facilitated a Needs and Risk Assessment Training at Shimo Command in Mombasa, Kenya

From 14 to 25 November 2022, UNODC GMCP facilitated a Needs Assessment (NA) Training at Shimo Command in Mombasa, Kenya. During the two-week intensive training, the officers covered the Phase 3 of NA training which aims to strengthen their knowledge and skills in Needs Assessment of Violent Extremist Offenders (VEOs).

From 14 to 18 November 2022, a Risk Assessment Level 3 Training has been also conducted at Kamiti Maximum-Security Prison and Langata Women’s Maximum-Security Prison in Nairobi. The five-day intensive training focused on the assessment of the risk of VEOs and introduced key elements of the National Risk Assessment framework.

From 21 to 25 November 2022, a Risk Assessment (RA) Training has been conducted at Langata Women’s Maximum-Security Prison in Nairobi. All trainings are being conducted under the Prevention of Violent Extremism project for Kenya Prisons, funded by the British High Commission in Kenya.
